“Although I am a fan of white tableware myself, I wanted to add that sweet touch for Désirée in the form of a warm pink shade”, explains top pastry chef Roger van Damme. “The gold trim should accentuate that luxurious feeling of patisserie, without being kitschy.” Désirée fits in with van Damme's big project for 2020: the opening of his new business of the same name, with which he lets a modern wind blow through the Antwerp icon Désirée de Lille. “I didn't rely on existing tableware or styles, but I did my own thing, a fantastic experience.”
