Journalist Eric Rinckhout writes about visual art and literature. He worked as a culture editor for the Belgian newspaper De Morgen for many years and has written several books on such subjects as Willem Elsschot and René Magritte, as well as contributions on old and modern masters (including Louise Bourgeois, Henri Matisse, Vincent van Gogh, Pierre Bonnard and Camille Claudel) and contemporary artists such as Luc Tuymans, Michaël Borremans, Ilse D’Hollander, Jan Vanriet, Rinus Van de Velde and Tracy Emin. He lives and works in Antwerp but fell head over heels for the South of France forty years ago. Since then, he travels there all the time.
